Kerala government to appoint Acting DGP, ignoring UPSC’s recommendation? (UPDATED)

The Kerala government is weighing other options ignoring Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) recommendation for the top Police post. The UPSC has shortlisted three names for the post. The government is reportedly considering appointing an in-charge DGP from outside this panel. The government has reportedly sought legal opinion in this regard. The incumbent State Police Chief Shaik Darvesh Saheb is retiring on Monday.
